liquid

some call it
liquid courage
but i call it
liquid misery
as it trickles down
my throat all i can
remember is the touch
i no longer have
your smile, the way
your eyes curl up
matching your lips
i still have your words
sweet and reassuring
comforting
but they aren’t you
can’t replace the feel
of your arms around me,
of your kiss on my skin.
someone hide the bottle
there’s only so much
a girl can take.
